Sewing Machine Day - Quilt Card Inspiration

Happy Sewing Machine Day !

A day to honor the  Sewing Machine:. Since the invention of the first working sewing machine, generally considered to have been the work of Englishman Thomas Saint in 1790.

For many of us it's a skill passed down in families. My Grandmother-taught my Mom -she taught me.

This picture of My Mom & Grandmother tells the story . In the dresses they made at home.

As my Grandmother got older she went into a nursing home. For her bed I made this yellow & Blue quilt. From a kit I purchased at Jo Anns. Dont look to close it was my very first quilt but I was determined to make it for her. I learned a lot and still enjoy quilting when I have the time. . It's a treasured memory of mine since she is no longer with us, Lisa

Today's Card is in inspiration of that quilt card .With the center a quilted block of paper pieces, And the cards colors taken from the quilt.  Lisa
