Pain Per Du for Breakfast

A South Louisiana classic breakfast -that can be made with any type of bread you have on hand -  

 Pain Per Du

1 Egg
1 T Sugar
8 -10 slices of Bread
1 C Milk
1/2 t    nutmeg

In a bowl Mix  egg,sugar,milk & nutmeg. Dip Bread slices and Saute in a pan with melted butter. Serve with sprinkled confectioner sugar  or dotted with preserves. .
