Women of the Bible : Bible journaling

May 1 st : And I start my women of the bible post.

Seems fitting for Mother's Day that I explore the wonderful women of Faith in the Bible.  Exodus 1 : 15-17

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live.

What is a Midwife ?

The word derives from Old English mid, "with" and wif, "woman", and thus originally meant "with-woman", that is, the person who is with the mother (woman) at childbirth. The word is used to refer to both male and female midwives.

 Background of the verse:

What we do know was: these women chose to disobey the command because it was the wrong thing to do. Because they did the right thing, the thing that pleased God .They refused to violate the law of life. God blessed them for doing what is right in His eyes. He blessed them with “households” “families” of their own.

Today's page is dedicated to a special birth : Moses and his story.Done in pastels with a baby floating in the river and brush. Lisa
