Chinese New Years Crafts

This Friday on my craft table is fun Chinese New Year Crafts:

Basic Supplies :

  • construction paper
  • paper plates
  • Scissor ,paint and glue

Fan :

Cut a paper plate , paint red , add sequins and sticks from the yard – tied with string. Classic Fan.
Traditional Chinese Fan, an Artistic Symbol of Literati and Social Status. Fan is in common use to drive away heat and stay cool during summer days. While traditional Chinese fan has a profound culture, which is closely associated with bamboo culture and Buddhism culture.

Mouse Red Envelope :

Using a basic envelope pattern cut out of Red and decorated with ears and face.

Red envelopes are gifts presented at social and family gatherings such as weddings or holidays such as Chinese New Year.   1. Start with rectangular sheet of paper. Cut a strip of paper from the long edge of the paper (about 1″ width). …
  2. Fold the paper in half lengthwise. …
  3. Unfold the paper.
  4. Loop the paper around to form a tube. …
  5. Tape or staple on the handle made in step 1 and you’re done!
Decorate with Cute face and Ears to celebrate The Year of the Rat !
